CURTIS HILL SPRING RENDEZVOUS
16-17 MAY 2008
A
combination of great weather, lots of trains, friendly railfans and interesting
experiences made the recent get together in and around Curtis Hill, Oklahoma, a
very successful railfan event.
BNSF
is to be congratulated for their part in the event. They provided a varied and constant stream of
trains on Friday and Saturday morning.
We saw B, E, G, H, L, M, Q, S, V, W, as well as, many hot Z trains. The work train at Waynoka with two War
Bonnets was my favorite of the event.
There were fewer run-through, pool and lease locos than expected. CN, CSXT, EMD, KCS and NS were represented. Not one Yellow Peril (UP) was sighted by us
during the two day trip. Yeh!!!

Githens, Duane Koss and his lovely friend, Linda, are to be congratulated for putting
the event together. Thanks for your
patience in answering us new guys questions, and getting the information out of
what was happening where and when. Just
hope you don’t get another visit from the Feds.
